An Original Polaroid of Marc Bolan with Bongo & Print
A rare, original vintage Polaroid photograph of Marc Bolan, believed to have been taken by his first manager, Tony Secunda.
This one-of-a-kind image is offered as an original print and is sold without copyright or reproduction rights.
Dimensions: 3½ x 4¼ inches (9 x 11 cm)
Provenance:
Sourced via Bonhams in the Sound & Cinema auction. The photograph was consigned from the archive of Tony Howard, Bolan’s manager during the height of his T. Rex years and subsequent solo career. Howard was also a key figure in the NEMS agency, which represented notable acts including Humble Pie, Jeff Beck. NEMS was founded by Brian Epstein, manager of The Beatles.
Given Bolan’s well-documented use of Polaroids in his artistic output, most notably the Polaroid collage featured in the original gatefold of Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow. This piece holds particular resonance with his visual legacy and creative expression.
